Tigram, Silk Artist

Silk is a live material for me, material that is nice to touch, pleasant to wear and wonderful to dye. I always strive for harmony, and put my soul in every pieces.

I make unique pieces – silk shawls, silk scarves, silk ties, silk drapes, silk screens and other articles made of silk for personal use. Every piece is made with a brush and special silk dye.

Finally, I sign them. The name Tigram is the anagram of Margit I believe that every one of my products has a destiny, and their owners will come to take them. It makes me happy to please my customers. I have found peace in silk dying.

Did you know?

The origin of silkworm is covered by the veil of time before written history. It was the Chinese 3000 years before Christ that discovered the value of this little artistic beetle, the silkworm. Based on the legend from Confucius:

“Once upon a time, there was a Chinese princess. One day, as she was having tea in the shade of a mulberry tree, a large white bean plopped into her cup. The princess tried to catch the cocoon, but she injured the shell and the silk thread unravelled. This is how the first thread of silk was born.  Goes the fable from Confucius.”

This is how this fine, light material, the thousand-coloured silk started its world-conquering journey. In time, silk had become the source of wealth and prosperity.

AN IDEAL GIFT!
